Experience

Welcome!

I have over ten year’s experience of working with children and young people within the NHS across various areas including Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Coventry and Warwickshire.

I initially trained as a children’s nurse, working both in the community and on children’s physical and mental health wards. This provided me with a comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of children and young people’s development.

I transitioned to working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in 2013 and worked in different services until I took up a position as a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Lecturer. This provided an opportunity to set up my private clinic in the community.

After six years working as a Lecturer, I completed my Professional Doctorate and I am now working solely as a private CBT Psychotherapist. As part of this role, I have recently been approached to co-develop and teach on an upcoming Level 5 CBT course.

I have always been passionate about children and young people’s mental wellbeing and as such adopt a collaborative, strength based approach to my practice to elicit hope and desire for change. I work individually with young people, as well as with parents and carers as required.

I have published articles relating to working in CAMHS and am in the processing of writing a book which will present the findings of my doctoral research.
